If there was an award for Tokyo makeovers, Roppongi would be the beauty queen. Starting with the opening of Roppongi Hills in 2003, a number of acclaimed hotspots have sprung up, almost as if a new city had been built on top of the old one.

Roppongi is also a gathering point for travelers and foreign residents who regularly converge at night to make it a Mecca of raucous Tokyo nightlife. Inside some establishments you might even feel like you’ve left Japan. It’s the epitome of a 21st-century neighborhood.
